The Reno flotilla is a volunteer organization supported by the U.S. Coast Guard. We serve the public by implementing a variety of missions for the boating community and meeting the requirements of the Coast Guard. Missions
Our overall mission is to contribute to the safety and security of the boating community. Operational Patrols provide Safety and Search and Rescue services at regattas and other events. Boating Safety Classes, Vessel Safety Checks, and distribution of literature and information at events and boating facilities, and other activities as, we provide the resources necessary to help make boating safe.
Services
- Operational Patrols - Regattas, fishing derbies and other events need our services to help keep the boating public safe. We also will provide Search and Rescue for disabled, lost, or boaters in danger.
- Boater Safety Classes - Regular Boater Education classes are offered to provide a comprehensive understanding of safe boat handling, necessary safety equipment, rule and regulations, and other topics.
- Vessel Safety Checks - A review of your vessel's required and recommended safety equipment, and overall condition provides you with knowledge that you are boating safely.
- Waterway Watch - Providing a watchful eye on the security and activities at our many ports and marine facilities
- And More - Aids to Navigation checks, Member Training, and working with the Coast Guard are other Flotilla activities.
